While I love spontaneity and adventure, I know that work-wise, I am driven by a routine. And the changes that are coming about as everything re-opens or even otherwise tend to throw me off at least a bit, even as I learn to be more resilient to change.


In this episode, we talk about one of the simplest, best and most consistent and sustainable hacks that there is for making progress even on the off and down days that I learnt from Lori Harder.



The ONE Thing Theory:


The one thing that will help you make massive progress is -

Deciding on only ONE thing you want to accomplish everyday that will move the needle forward in the direction that you want.


On those days when you are not getting anything done choose tasks like:

  • Cleaning your desk

  • Meal planning

  • Getting your laundry done

….and so on.



On MOST days, choose KEY and NEEDLE moving Tasks like:

  • Watching an hour of video lecture

  • Researching on an article that you want to write

  • Calling a friend who could help connect you to you next step

…..and so on.


Deciding on only ONE thing you want to accomplish everyday that will move the needle forward in the direction that you want.

WHY try it?


  • These small easily doable ‘One Things’ compound to massive results over time.

  • Since it’s such a simple and not-so-daunting concept and is very approachable as a goal, completing it will increase your confidence because you start showing up for yourself.

  • Reduces the “Hustle Mode” anxiety and allows you to be more present with your family and friends as well

  • Helps create momentum and before you realize, it's a week later and you are getting the things that matter done, you are making progress and you now feel better about yourself which makes you more efficient and you are on fire!


Since it’s such a simple and not-so-daunting concept and is very approachable as a goal, completing it will increase your confidence because you start showing up for yourself.
